NORTHEAST BOUNDARY TUNNEL PROJECT

At 27,000 feet long and 23 feet in diameter, the Northeast Boundary Tunnel is a huge project not only for Connelly and Associates, but for the D.C. Metro Area as well. As a part of DC Water’s Clean Rivers Project, the Northeast Boundary Tunnel was built in response to flooding in specific parts of Northeast D.C. The Northeast Boundary Tunnel is one of the five tunnels that is a part of the Clean Rivers Project, and the construction is set to be finished in 2023. Connelly and Associates has installed over 100 extensometers and inclinometers in support of the geotechnical instrumentation phase of NEBT.
